Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TourChorus ("TourChorus", "we", "us") handles personal information when you visit tourchorus.com, use the TourChorus dashboard as a tour operator ("Operator"), or use the TourChorus mobile app as a passenger ("Rider").
Who is responsible
- For Operator accounts and our website, TourChorus is the controller.
- For Rider data an Operator collects through its tours (for example survey answers a Rider chooses to share with that Operator), the Operator is the controller and TourChorus processes it on the Operator's behalf under our Data Processing Addendum.
- For TourChorus Rider accounts, TourChorus is the controller.
Information we collect
Operators (dashboard users). Name, work email, organisation details, team roles, billing details (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers), content you upload (scripts, audio, images, route data), and usage logs.
Riders (app users).
- Anonymous use: listening never requires an account. The app uses a random device identifier, the tours you open, your chosen language, app version and basic diagnostics.
- Location: the app uses your device's location while a tour is running to play commentary at the right place. Location is used to trigger stops and is not used for advertising.
- Optional account: if you sign in with a one-time email code, we store your email address and the tours you've taken.
- Surveys: answers you give to an Operator's survey, and any email address or marketing consent you choose to share with that Operator.
Website visitors. Standard server logs and a first-party cookie (tc_attr) that records how you found us (for example campaign parameters and the first page you visited) so we can understand which pages lead to sign-ups. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on this site.
How we use information
- To provide, secure and improve TourChorus and the TourChorus app.
- To bill Operators and manage subscriptions.
- To send service emails (for example sign-in codes, trial and billing notices).
- To send marketing emails only where you have opted in; you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To produce aggregated, de-identified analytics for Operators about their tours.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
Sharing
We share personal information only with:
- The Operator whose tour you use, limited to aggregated usage and the survey answers and contact details you choose to share with that Operator. Operators cannot see Riders who never used their tours.
- Service providers who host, process payments, send email, generate translations and voiceovers, and monitor errors on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell personal information.
Retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymise it, unless we must keep it longer by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Riders can delete their TourChorus account from the app or by contacting us. For data an Operator controls, we will pass your request to that Operator.
International transfers
We and our providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Children
TourChorus is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We will post updates here and change the date above. For material changes we will notify Operators by email.
